A basket full of hand pies

A hand pie was a type of Earth pie that fit inside an individual's hand, and could be consumed as a handheld food. Having a semicircular appearance, the pie had a filling which was either sweet or savory.

In 2380, in an attempt to ingratiate himself with Ensign Beckett Mariner after learning that she was the daughter of Captain Carol Freeman, Lieutenant Commander Andy Billups replicated a picnic basket full of hand pies and offered the pies to Mariner, who refused them. However, Ensign Brad Boimler accepted one of the pies, as it had a key lime filling, which delighted him greatly. (LD: "No Small Parts")
