The hand cannon was a hand-held directed energy weapon used by the Emerald Chain's regulators in the late 32nd century. (DIS: "That Hope Is You, Part 1", "Scavengers")

The name of this weapon is from Property Master Mario Moreira in the aftershow TRR: "Scavengers". He explained in the show how the weapon was made in the prop shop.
