Hail Mary

The Hail Mary was a primarily Catholic prayer.

During the Battle near Xahea, after several attempts to disarm an undetonated photon torpedo lodged in the USS Enterprise's saucer section, Una Chin-Riley informed Captain Christopher Pike that they had entered the Hail Mary part of the operation. (DIS: "Such Sweet Sorrow, Part 2")

In response to Tom Paris' sarcastic suggestion that The Doctor's Fair Haven character, Father Mulligan, go to a monastery and take a vow of silence, the EMH responded by threatening Paris with having to say Hail Marys until Saint Patrick's Day. (VOY: "Fair Haven")
