Grounding

Grounding was the practice of restricting a child's activities as punishment for an infraction they had committed.

While growing up on the ECS Horizon, his childhood home, Travis Mayweather and Nora jumped on the bed after turning off the grav-plating, resulting in their being grounded. In 2153, while Travis was visiting the Horizon, he suggested doing so again to Nora, who declined, saying that Mayweather being grounded again wouldn't look good on his Starfleet record.
