Greg Cannom (21 August 19519 May 2025; age 73) was a makeup and special effects artist who worked on Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Cannom most notably created the jackal mastiff in the film.

Cannom is a four-times Academy Award winner and six-times nominee in the category Best Makeup. He won the Oscar for his work on the horror film Bram Stoker's Dracula in 1993, for the comedy Mrs. Doubtfire in 1994 and shared with Ve Neill and Yolanda Toussieng, for the drama The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in 2009, and for the political drama Vice in 2019 and shared with Patricia Dehaney.

His Oscar nominations include the fantasy film Hook in 1992 and shared with Monty Westmore, the crime drama Hoffa in 1993 and shared with Ve Neill, the drama Roommates in 1996, the drama Titanic in 1998, the science fiction film Bicentennial Man in 2000, and the drama A Beautiful Mind in 2002.

Cannom and Wesley Wofford received the Technical Achievement Award for the development of their special modified silicone material for makeup applications used in motion pictures in 2005. In addition, Cannom won two Saturn Awards and six nominations, four BAFTA Award nominations, and five Primetime Emmy Award nominations for his work. In 2018 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild.

In his career which spanned six decades, Cannom worked on over 120 feature films and television series. Among his most notable work are the horror film The Howling (1981), the science fiction film The Incredible Shrinking Woman (1981), the music video Thriller for Michael Jackson (1983), the science fiction film Cocoon (1985), the horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987), the comic adaptation Dick Tracy (1990), the fantasy sequel Highlander II: The Quickening (1991), the science fiction horror sequel Alien 3 (1992), the comic adaptation Batman Returns (1992), the superhero comedy The Mask (1994), the science fiction television series Earth 2 (1994-1995), the television mini-series From the Earth to the Moon (1998), the comic adaptation Blade (1998), the thriller Hannibal (2001), the sport drama Ali (2001), the fantasy film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), the comedy sequel Big Momma's House 2 (2006), the comic adaptation Watchmen (2009), the thriller Fan (2016), and the drama The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021).

Cannom was interviewed for the 2007 documentary Creature People along with actor Robert Picardo and Star Trek makeup and special effects artists Michael Westmore, Rick Stratton, David Quashnick, Craig Reardon, Kevin Haney, and Rob Burman. Between 2011 and 2014, he contributed to several episodes of the reality program Face Off, hosted by McKenzie Westmore.
