The Great Lakes was a group of five lakes that existed on Earth's North American continent along the border between the old nations of Canada and the United States of America. They were connected through various rivers that ultimately emptied into the Atlantic Ocean. (DS9: "Little Green Men") One of the Great Lakes was Lake Ontario. (SNW: "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow")

The equivalent bodies of water on the planet Miri.

Identical collective bodies of water to those of the Great Lakes was observed on Miri in 2267, which was an exact replica of the planet Earth. (TOS: "Miri")

The names of the five lakes shown are Ontario, Erie, Michigan, Huron, and Superior.
The Great Lakes are not mentioned in dialogue but can clearly be seen on a United States wall map in "Little Green Men".
A reverse image of the Great Lakes were also seen as the only significant feature of the planet Kreetassa in ENT: "A Night In Sickbay". The same reverse image was also used to depict the planet Earth in "Affliction".
