A golf ball was a special white ball designed to be used in the Earth game of golf.

In 2377, The Doctor had a ball and club ready to play on the holodeck at Saint Andrews, but cancelled so that Tom Paris and B'Elanna Torres could spend three hours together on Gedi Prime. A bit later, he was practicing putting in sickbay aboard USS Voyager and a ball went out into the corridor. (VOY: "Drive")
