Golden boy

A golden boy was an individual who was highly favored by another.

Quark recalled being the golden boy of a District Sub-Nagus until he became involved with the man's District Sub-Nagus' sister, which violated Rule of Acquisition 112. He subsequently fell out of favor and was fired. (DS9: "Playing God")

In 2401, Liam Shaw rejected Seven of Nine's desire to rescue Jean-Luc Picard and William T. Riker, saying, "I am not gonna risk 500 souls for two relics who think that a couple of brass medals make them golden boys." (PIC: "Disengage")
