Gasping

Gasping was a sound made by individuals struggling to breathe, or experiencing sudden pain.

In 2374, Lisa Cusak surmised that she would be "gasping for air and turning different shades of blue" by the time her rescuers arrived. (DS9: "The Sound of Her Voice")
