Garen was a non-speaking character scripted for the 10 December 1987 version of the Star Trek: The Next Generation first season episode "When The Bough Breaks", but was cut from later revisions. He was an Aldean who was described in the script notes as "a large fierce-looking man", and was apparently Rashella's spouse. He was to have originally been transported onto the bridge USS Enterprise-D with Rashella and Radue, and was was later in the scene with Rachelle and Alexandria when Wesley Crusher was watching the kids through the Custodian.
