Flight dynamics officer
Flight dynamics officer (FDO) station
The flight dynamics officer (abbreviated FDO) was a title and station responsible for a vessels flight path and overall trajectory at NX-Control, within the Starfleet Research Center, during the NX Project's testing of the NX-Alpha and NX-Beta.
In 2143, an ensign at the FDO station monitored information from Commander A.G. Robinson's NX-Alpha flight. When Robinson and Jonathan Archer stole the NX-Beta, he again reported information to Commodore Maxwell Forrest from the FDO station. (ENT: "First Flight")
Many of the NX-Control stations were references to NASA and International Space Station terminology.
