Finalist

A finalist was any person or design that had made it to the final round of a competition.

In 2364, Oliana Mirren, T'Shanik, Mordock and Wesley Crusher were all finalists for Starfleet Academy entrance. (TNG: "Coming of Age")

In 2366, Data showed Deanna Troi the finalists Lal had chosen in terms of species and gender. (TNG: "The Offspring")

In 2370, Deanna informed Jean-Luc Picard that the finalists for the Captain Picard Day art contest would be arriving in half an hour, and that from them, he would have to select "a first, second and third place, and four honorable mentions." (TNG: "The Pegasus")
