Film Illusions, Inc. is an effects studio specializing in special make-up effects, animatronics, and custom prop design and fabrication. It is owned and operated by effects supervisor Russell Shinkle. A team from this company, which included Dan Crawley, did some technical work on Star Trek.

Film Illusions has provided services on several films since 2001. The studio's first film project was Reign of Fire (2002, starring Star Trek: Deep Space Nine regular Alexander Siddig). Film Illusions' subsequent credits include Daredevil (2003, featuring Erick Avari and Leland Orser), The Chronicles of Riddick (2004, starring Karl Urban), Bryan Singer's Superman Returns (2006), the Fantastic Four films, and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009, starring Rachel Nichols).
