Father of the bride

The father of the bride was a member of the wedding party who usually escorted his daughter down the aisle during the wedding ceremony procession. They were not necessarily the actual father of the bride.

On Lieutenant Robert Tomlinson and Angela Martine's 2266 wedding day, Montgomery Scott fulfilled this role, in the absence of Angela's father. (TOS: "Balance of Terror")

In 2367, Data served as the father of the bride in Keiko Ishikawa and Miles O'Brien's wedding. Additionally, William T. Riker and Data had a discussion on the bridge about who would be the father of the bride at Riker's hypothetical wedding. (TNG: "Data's Day")
