Extrapolation

Extrapolation was the extension of a trend into the future, or applying the results of a sample to an entire population.

In approximately 3074, The Doctor's EMH backup module noted the inaccuracies in the Kyrian holoprogram The Voyager Encounter which depicted a reconstruction of the USS Voyager as the warship Voyager. However, Quarren claimed it was a reasonable extrapolation from historic record. (VOY: "Living Witness")
