Background information

• This issue is the third of a three part adaptation of the Star Trek: The Motion Picture film. The story contained within was previously published with the earlier issues as one volume in a Marvel Comics Super Special volume, and later reprinted as a Pocket Books paperback version.
• This reprint includes a new opening page with a new captain's log that was not present in Marvel Comics Super Special in order to recap the previous issue.
