Ernie Halter (born 22 October 1974; age 50) is a singer and songwriter who appeared early in his career as a member of Fantome's species in the Star Trek: Voyager seventh season episode "The Void". He received no credit for this appearance. [1]

Born in Inglewood, California, Halter started to play the piano at the age of eight and followed his dream to become a singer and songwriter. He was a finalist in the 2003 "Be a Star" competition from the Los Angeles radio station Star 98.7 FM. He toured with Clay Aiken through the country and also appeared with him in The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in October 2003 and the Late Show with David Letterman in December 2003. Halter also performed with Christina Aguilera and John Mayer and performed solo at "The Star Lounge" at FOX-11 in 2003.

Between 2005 and 2019 he released eight studio albums – four of them with Rock Ridge Music. Halter also appeared on Good Morning America, The View, Entertainment Tonight, The Early Show, and AOL Sessions. His solo debut title was "Respect" in 2003.

Besides his appearance on Star Trek, Halter also appeared as background actor on episodes of Beverly Hills, 90210, JAG, Robbery Homicide Division, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, That's Life, Gilmore Girls, Luis (2003), and Frasier where he was seated at a table at the Café Nervosa.

He is also featured in the reboot Charlie's Angels (2000, with Sean Whalen, Diesel Pfingsten, Kevin Grevioux, Michael Papajohn, Jim Palmer, Kenny Endoso, Paul Eliopoulos, Tim Gilbert, Al Goto, Mike Smith, Jane Bordeaux, and Gregory Hinton) and the television drama Path to War (2002, with Bruce McGill, James Frain, Cliff DeYoung, Francis Guinan, Randy Oglesby, Andrew Borba, Wayne Grace, Albert Hall, Kelly Connell, and Guy Richardson).
