Medical transporter

A medical transporter was a transporter used for transports within sickbay for medical purposes.

In 2259, Nurse Christine Chapel used USS Enterprise's emergency medical transporter in sickbay to get to the bridge to intercept an unnamed Kiley scientist who had fled into a turbolift occupied by Nyota Uhura. (SNW: "Strange New Worlds")

That same year, Doctor Joseph M'Benga's medical transporter aboard Enterprise had inhibited the ship's biofilters. M'Benga prevented an upgrade of the medical transporter when the ship was in Spacedock because he was keeping his cygnokemia-diagnosed daughter Rukiya in the pattern buffer. There was a medical transporter aboard USS Voyager, located inside sickbay. One component of the transporter was the surgical targeting scanner. (VOY: "Tuvix")

During the birth of Naomi Wildman on Voyager in 2372, the medical transporter was used to transport the baby from Samantha Wildman's body in order to save Naomi's life. (VOY: "Deadlock")

That same year when Tuvok and Neelix were merged into Tuvix due to a transporter incident aboard Voyager, Kathryn Janeway used a radioisotope to detect the patterns of Tuvok and Neelix and then "split" them again using the medical transporter. The Doctor had refused to split them, as doing so would take a life. (VOY: "Tuvix")
