Elliot Schick (24 November 19248 March 2005; age 80) worked as First Assistant Director on the even-numbered episodes during the first half of Star Trek: The Original Series's second season. The character of Elliott in "The Doomsday Machine" was named after him. (citation needededit)

Schick began as an assistant director, then quickly moved to become a Unit Production Manager and Producer, in which capacity he worked on numerous films. These include Dillinger (1973), Futureworld (1976), The Deer Hunter (co-starring John Savage), Private Benjamin, Masters of the Universe (1987, co-starring Frank Langella and Robert Duncan McNeill) and Total Recall (1990, featuring Ronny Cox, Roy Brocksmith, Michael Champion, Lycia Naff, Robert Costanzo, Marc Alaimo and Robert Picardo).
