Electromagnetic coil

An electromagnetic coil, also referred to as a magnetic coil or control coil, was a piece of technology used for operating a starship.

In 2364, the USS Enterprise-D beamed an electromagnetic coil over to the Ornaran freighter Sanction but the pilot T'Jon was unable to install it. (TNG: "Symbiosis")
