Edward "Ed" J. Reilly worked as best boy in the camera and electrical department of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. He also worked as assistant chief lighting technician to Richard Cronn on several episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
In 1979 he worked as electrician on 1941 on which he worked with fellow Next Generation alumni Bill Peets and Adam Glick. He then worked as assistant chief lighting technician on Pretty in Pink (1986), Blue City (1986), Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986), Some Kind of Wonderful (1987), and Beverly Hills Cop II (1987).
In 1999 Reilly received thanks in the end credits of the drama The Cider House Rules.
