Dud

A dud was something which was considered defective or useless.

In 2381, Victoria Nuzé hoped the USS Cerritos' "Project Swing By" visit to Brekka would be more newsworthy than their earlier excursion to Ornara, which she regarded as a dud. (LD: "Trusted Sources")
