Double axe

A double axe was an axe with a two-edged blade. It was the weapon of Shango, the Yoruba's god of thunder and lightning.

In a display for the Shango X-1, named after this god, seen at the gala for the Europa Mission astronauts, it likened Shango's carrying his double axe to the interplanetary vehicle having a twin payload of lander and probe for exploring the environment of Europa. (PIC: "Two of One")
