Dormant state

A dormant state was a period of inactivity or rest, where something was not currently active or growing but would have the potential to become active again later.

Around 2151, a piece of a symbiotic lifeform went into a dormant state due to the shock of being severed from the larger organism. (ENT: "Vox Sola")
