Denevan sun

As one of three stars in the Deneva system, the Denevan sun, also known as Kappa Fornacis A, was the primary of its system. It was a G-type subgiant in the Beta Quadrant and was approximately 76 light years from Sol.

In 2267, a Denevan ship piloted by a colonist from the planet Deneva flew into this star. He was attempting to free himself from the control of the flying parasite which had infected him. His success in this endeavour provided the clue which ultimately led to the defeat of the creatures by the USS Enterprise. (TOS: "Operation -- Annihilate!")

Both the Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 62) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385") classified the Denevan sun as a G-class star.
The current location of Denevan sun in the Beta Quadrant was based on the most recent star charts seen in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Star Trek: Section 31.
