Delmore Schwartz (8 December 1913–11 July 1966; age 52) was the author of "Calmly We Walk through This April's Day", the source of Tolian Soran's quote "Time is the fire in which we burn." in Star Trek Generations. This poem was found in his book In Dreams Begin Responsibilities.

Schwartz and his work ([In] Dreams Begin Responsibilities) were used by permission and he and his work were credited with "special thanks" at the end the film.
