Fighting dehumanization, one replicator at a time

Dehumanization was the act of making someone feel like they were less than a person.

In 2365, when Geordi La Forge questioned Sonya Gomez's saying "please" to the food dispenser, Gomez explained that being surrounded by artificial intelligence daily had a dehumanizing effect, therefore she felt courtesy was in order. She then thanked the replicator when it made her hot chocolate. (TNG: "Q Who")
