Dean Parks is a visual effects artist who worked as set designer on the Star Trek: The Next Generation first season episode "Encounter at Farpoint" along fellow set designer Greg Papalia.

Parks worked as propmaker on Buffalo Soldiers (1997) and as matte painter for Matte World Digital on the short war documentary Manassas: End of Innocence (2002, with Craig Barron and Krystyna Demkowicz) and on The Last Samurai (2003).

Further credits as visual effects artist and digital compositor include King Kong (2005), Kung Fu Panda (2008), Piranha 3D (2010, starring Jerry O'Connell and Christopher Lloyd, with Adam Scott, Dina Meyer, and Nicole Randall, casting by Alyssa Weisberg, and costume design by Sanja Milkovic Hays), Gulliver's Travels (2010), The Green Hornet (2011), Thor (2011, starring Chris Hemsworth and Idris Elba), Green Lantern (2011), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011, with Neal McDonough), and The Smurfs (2011).
