David de Vos
David de Vos is an American director, writer, and producer who directed scenes that appeared on the video monitors of rides at Star Trek: The Experience, an interactive ride in the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel (now Westgate) from 1998 to 2008. de Vos also had a brief role as a reporter in some of the footage shot for the "Klingon Encounter." It was his first DGA directing experience, and he has since had a lengthy career in the industry alongside his wife and production partner, Stephanie de Vos.
Though De Vos has led a number of similar ventures to The Experience, including working on Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, Terminator 2: 3D and Back to the Future: The Ride, De Vos has also directed short and full length films. These include 2004's The O.C.: A Day in the Life, a behind-the-scenes special of the series starring Alan Dale, and A Champion Heart, which he acted in and co-wrote with his wife.
He has also worked on a number of television shows, including directing five episodes of the series Hitting the Breaks; one of the episodes he directed, "A Pocketful of Theodores," featured Ray Wise. Additionally, de Vos directed thirteen episodes of Malibu Dan the Family Man, one of which featured recurring Star Trek guest Clint Howard.
de Vos also remains active on his YouTube channel, where he uploaded extensive beind-the-scenes footage of his time working on The Experience. One video, showing several actors from The Next Generation as they worked on scenes for "Klingon Encounter," can be viewed here.
