David Moreau
David Moreau is a Set Designer who is working for Production Designer Scott Chambliss and Supervising Art Director Don Macaulay as Digital Set Designer on Star Trek Beyond. [1]
Moreau graduated with a BFA in Illustration from the Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York in 2002 and with a MFA in Production Design from the American Film Institute in 2006. During this time he worked as art intern on When Zachary Beaver Came to Town (2003), as production designer on the short projects Fear and Trembling (2003), Loveholstery (2004), and Four Corners (2006, stunt coordination by Erik Cord) and on the comedy Severance (2005), and as art department assistant on The Good German (2006, with Leland Orser, Don Pugsley, and J. Paul Boehmer).
The next years, Moreau worked as set designer on the television series American Heiress (2007, starring Marshall R. Teague), Wicked Wicked Games (2006-07), Saints & Sinners (2007), Moonlight (2008), and Eleventh Hour (2008, produced by André Bormanis). He also worked as set designer for Beat Frutiger on 2008 and 2009 commercials for Apple's iPhone.
Projects as concept artist and set designer include A Christmas Carol (2009), Alice in Wonderland (2010, with Joel Swetow and Frank Welker and production design by Robert Stromberg), Knight and Day (2010), Mars Needs Moms (2011), The Hangover Part II (2011, with Michael Berry, Jr.), Real Steel (2011), The Adventures of Tintin (2011), J. Edgar (2011), Rock of Ages (2012), Iron Man 3 (2013, with William Sadler, Miguel Ferrer, Mike Massa, Sala Baker, Chien Funan, and Spencer Garrett, produced by Stan Lee, and music by Brian Tyler) and Man of Steel (2013), and 47 Ronin (2013).
Moreau received two Excellence in Production Design Award nominations in the category Fantasy Film. In 2011 for his work on Alice in Wonderland, shared with Gregory Jein, Jeff Frost, Daphne Yap, Steven Messing, Jim Martin, Dawn Brown, Anne Porter, Jeff Markwith, Tammy S. Lee, Richard F. Mays, C. Scott Baker, Scott Herbertson, Kasra Farahani, and Robert Stromberg, and in 2012 for The Adventures of Tintin, shared with Gregory Jein and Tony Bohorquez.
He later worked as set designer on Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014, executive produced by Stan Lee and art direction by Steve Christensen, Beat Frutiger, and Gary Kosko) and as concept artist on Spectral (2016, starring Bruce Greenwood, art coordination by Andrea Carter, and concept illustrations by Christopher S. Ross).
