David Loughery (3 March 19539 July 2024; age 71) wrote the screenplay for Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. He also shared story credit with William Shatner and Harve Bennett.

Other films which Loughery wrote for include Dreamscape (1984, starring Christopher Plummer), Flashback (1990, starring Carol Kane, Paul Dooley, Cliff DeYoung, Michael McKean and featuring Allan Graf), Passenger 57 (1992, starring Wesley Snipes and Bruce Greenwood, with Alex Datcher and Robert Hooks), The Three Musketeers (1992) and Tom and Huck (1995, featuring Charles Rocket and Ike Eisenmann).

Loughery also wrote the story and original screenplay for Lakeview Terrace (2008, co-starring Ron Glass). He then wrote the screenplay for Obsessed (2009, starring Idris Elba and featuring Bruce McGill and Jerry O'Connell).

Loughery died of skin cancer in St. Petersburg, Florida, on 9 July 2024. [1]
