Dan O'Shannon (born 10 March 1962; age 63) is a writer who co-wrote the story for the Star Trek: Enterprise second season episode "Carbon Creek" with Rick Berman and Brannon Braga.
O'Shannon is better-known as a sitcom writer and producer, having been the showrunner on Frasier (starring Kelsey Grammer) at the time of writing "Carbon Creek", and previously being joint showrunner on the final season of Cheers (with Grammer, Kirstie Alley and Bebe Neuwirth). His other sitcom credits include episodes of Newhart, Suddenly Susan, Modern Family (starring Ariel Winter) and The Odd Couple.
Despite working principally in sitcoms, O'Shannon has also written episodes of drama shows, including Threshold (executive produced by Braga) and Jericho.
