A cranial scan was a type of medical test.

In 2151, Dr. Phlox wanted to run a cranial scan on T'Pol, despite her protestations that it was only a headache. When he assured her it would be quick, she explained that she neglected to meditate before sleeping and all she needed was some inaprovaline. (ENT: "Fusion")
