Courtyard

A courtyard was the exterior center of an area, surrounded by other buildings.

As Kor warned the Organians that two Federation prisoners had escaped, he and James T. Kirk guided them to to the courtyard of my Kirk's headquarters. (TOS: "Errand of Mercy")
