The coronal plane, or coronal section, was a division of the body by medical practitioners into posterior and anterior halves.

In 2369, a coronal section of Doctor Jo'Bril's torso, with internal organs listed, was displayed in a sickbay graphic aboard the USS Enterprise-D. (TNG: "Suspicions")

In 2370, in "Anatomical Scan – 9861", information gained from sensor readings of the coronal plane of Juliana Tainer was displayed in a sickbay graphic aboard the Enterprise-D. (TNG: "Inheritance")
