Corn chowder was a chowder from Earth made of corn, potatoes, green and red peppers, and onions.

In the script for the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "The Sound of Her Voice", Lisa Cusak imagined her rescuers bringing her a big cup of hot coffee or corn chowder. Cusak had been subsisting on emergency rations for days; the chowder would have been something different for her to eat.
