Comptronic was a computer system invented by the computer scientist Doctor Richard Daystrom prior to the duotronic breakthrough in 2243.

In 2268, the M-5 multitronic unit stated this fact after Daystrom asked if it knew him. (TOS: "The Ultimate Computer")
