Compass (drawing tool)
The compass was a handheld tool used for drawing circles. This tool had two legs, with one being used as a pivot and the other, being extendable, having a pencil for describing the circle.
In 2380, several compasses were in a crate of art supplies that Beckett Mariner had brought down from the USS Cerritos to the surface of Beta III. She was handing out the supplies to Betan children. When giving one of the compasses to a young girl, Mariner described it as a "spiky, pencil, twirly-around thingy." (LD: "No Small Parts")
