Commission on Political Traitors

The Commission on Political Traitors was an organization that existed on the planet Cheron at least 50,000 years prior to 2268.

Its Chief Officer, Commissioner Bele, left Cheron at that time to begin his pursuit of Lokai, whose crimes evidently fell within the Commission's purview. Authority for his pursuit derived from the Commission and its work.

The Commission ceased to exist when the racial conflict the Cheron natives were embroiled in left the species functionally extinct, but Bele refused to abandon his pursuit of Lokai even after discovering what had become of their species. (TOS: "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield")
