Command (computing)

In computing, a command was an instruction that a user would give to a computer or software to perform a specific task.

In 2365, James Moriarty asked USS Enterprise-D's computer what it was, to which the computer replied, "If you refer to the arch you ordered, it provides computer control. Do you wish to input any commands?" (TNG: "Elementary, Dear Data")
