Collateral

Collateral was any item or property used to secure a loan or other debt.

In 2153, Trip Tucker offered his gun as collateral towards borrowing a horse for a couple of hours. (ENT: "North Star")

In 2373, Quark put his bar up as collateral to three different brokers. (DS9: "Business as Usual")
