Background information
This star system was only mentioned in writing.
The location of this star system as well its status was seen on the bridge of the SS Eleos XII on what appears to be an updated chart from Star Trek: Star Charts. Dave Blass published pictures of the set on his website.
The system might have an association with the Battle of Cheron.|Information on this system was derived from the episodes and films, the reference works Star Trek: Star Charts and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library, and real-world sources. The reference works were used extensively in the creation of star charts seen in Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Star Trek: Prodigy, and Star Trek: Lower Decks. The real-world information added to the article was current as of 2025.
In the Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 66) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Stellar Cartography", pp. 32-33, 39; "Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), this system was identified as the battle site for the historic Battle of Cheron in 2160. This was the final battle of the Earth-Romulan War. The Omicron Gruis system was identified as a Romulan system in a star chart created by the Stellar Archivist Lsel Essik for the Romulan Master Data Catalog in 2366.
