Cherenkov radiation
Cherenkov radiation was a form of radiation. It could be produced by tachyons interacting with a planetary atmosphere, which was visible as a blue glow in the sky. (DIS: "Choose to Live")
The plasma storms of the Badlands also produced Cherenkov radiation, which prevented ships from effectively using cloaking devices within. (DIS: "Labyrinths")
In 3190, while seeking evidence of tachyons to support his hypothesis that the Dark Matter Anomaly was a primordial wormhole, Commander Paul Stamets asked Cleveland Booker if he saw Cherenkov radiation when the anomaly destroyed Kwejian. Since Booker could not recall, President T'Rina later mind melded with him to examine his memory of the event. She concluded that Cherenkov radiation was not present. (DIS: "Choose to Live")
