Charlie Daboub
Charlie Daboub (born 26 September 1962; age 62) is a set designer, art director, and production designer who worked as set designer on the fourth season of Star Trek: The Next Generation in 1991. [1] [2] The Daboub-Magdaleno Excavation mentioned in the episode "Qpid" was named after him and scenic artist Jim Magdaleno.
Daboub attended the University of Texas at Arlington between 1983 and 1987 and graduated with a BS in Architecture before he moved to Los Angeles where he started to work for Paramount Pictures in 1991. Among his credits as set designer are Hoffa (1992), Sleepless in Seattle (1993), Wyatt Earp (1994), Higher Learning (1995), and Congo (1995).
He then worked as assistant art director on Get Shorty (1995), Down Periscope (1996, starring Kelsey Grammer), That Thing You Do! (1996), and Batman & Robin (1997, written by Akiva Goldsman and with John Glover). Credits as art director include Playing by Heart (1998), Mighty Joe Young (1998), and End of Days (1999), and as production designer, Daboub worked on The Broken Hearts Club (2000), the crime drama Skeletons in the Closet (2001, with Gordon Clapp and Bobby C. King), Megiddo: The Omega Code 2 (2001, with Guy Siner, John DeMita, Jim Metzler, Tony Amendola, and Greg Ellis), and Three Way (2004).
Daboub was the art director for the Boston unit on Moonlight Mile (2002) and the set designer for Team America: World Police (2004) and The Jake Effect (2006, starring Greg Grunberg and Nikki Cox and executive produced by Marc Buckland).
Further credits as art director include Big Momma's House 2 (2006) and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006), Alvin and the Chipmunks (2007), You Again (2010), Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 (2011), Hop (2011), Step Up Revolution (2012), and the television series The Glades (2012) and Graceland (2013).
Daboub also worked as production designer on Tooth Fairy 2 (2012) and A Change of Heart (2015, starring Virginia Madsen).
