Cestus system

The Cestus system was an inhabited planetary system in the Beta Quadrant. This system was near the Federation-Gorn border. (SNW: "The Broken Circle"; Star Trek: Section 31)

Stellar system

This was a single star system. The primary Cestus was an A-type star.

Planetary system

In this system, there were at least three planets, including Cestus III, which was located in the system's habitable zone. (TOS: "Arena"; DS9: "Family Business"; SNW: "The Broken Circle")

Stellar cartography

In 2259, the location of this system was labeled on a Federation star chart, relatively near the Galdonterre system, Deep Space 2, and the Gorn border. (SNW: "The Broken Circle")

On stardate 1292.4, the location of this system was labeled in a chart used during a Section 31 Alpha Team briefing. (Star Trek: Section 31)

In 2293, the location of this system was labeled in a star chart found on the navigation console of the USS Enterprise-B. (Star Trek Generations)

In the 2370s, this system was located on the other side of the Federation from Deep Space 9, which was located in the Alpha Quadrant. (DS9: "Family Business", "The Way of the Warrior")

This star system was only mentioned in writing.
Further information on this system could be had from the Star Trek: Star Charts (pp. 57, 64, "United Federation of Planets II") and the Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"). The primary of this system was classified as an A-class star. In 2378, this Federation system was a stop on a major space lane.
