Cardilia

The Cardilia was a variety of plant grown in the plant biology lab aboard the USS Enterprise-D.

In 2367, Keiko O'Brien was doing an isozyme study on some populations of Cardilia but they turned out to have some really weird polymorphisms, which caused Keiko some headaches. (TNG: "Night Terrors")

In real life, cardilia are a variety of clam.
