Background information
This planet was only mentioned in dialogue.
Although never explicitly stated, the planet's name seemed to imply it was located in the Canopus system. In the script of "Where No Man Has Gone Before", this planet was referred to as "a Canopus planet", not "the Canopus planet".
This planet's quadrant of origin was inferred based on the position of its star system as seen in the star chart appearing in the Star Trek: Discovery episode "An Obol for Charon".
Apocrypha
In the bios for Star Trek: Starship Creator, Canopus Planet was identified as the planet of origin for Lieutenant Nara, who was seen in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Eye of the Beholder".
