Spock's calculation device
A calculator was a tool that had the primary function of performing mathematics.
Spock used a calculation device while making damage and repair estimates to the USS Enterprise in 2269. (TOS: "That Which Survives")
The calculation device prop is a repaint of the remote control used by Doctor McCoy in "Spock's Brain".
In 2366, Gosheven chided Ard'rian McKenzie for her interest in Data, stating "only you would get this excited over a walking calculator." Her response was that she was fascinated by cybernetic intelligence. (TNG: "The Ensigns of Command")
