The Caitian written language

The Caitian language was the language of the Caitian species.

It consisted of purring and meowing, similar to sounds made by Earth cats and other feline life forms.

In 2381, when Ensigns Beckett Mariner and D'Vana Tendi visited Qualor II to pick up a box for Doctor T'Ana, a Caitian storage unit featured signage in Caitian. (LD: "We'll Always Have Tom Paris")

While trying to become friends with T'Ana in 2382, Brad Boimler stated that he "need[ed] to speak her language", prompting D'Vana Tendi to ask, "Caitian?" (LD: "Of Gods and Angles")

In 2383, when a Kazon trader sold a Caitian child into slavery on the Tars Lamora prison colony, Gwyn, who knew the Caitian language, spoke to the child in Caitian. (PRO: "Lost and Found")
