Bug (device)

A bug was a small, hidden device that would record conversations without the knowledge of the people involved.

In 2370, after learning that Odo routinely monitored Quark's communications, Julian Bashir joked, "I hope you don't have one of those little bugs hidden in my quarters", to which the constable replied, "Should I?". (DS9: "The Wire")
